Information Support Workers
These are the first vital contact for most young people using our drop-in service or telephoning our helpline. Their role is to make young people feel welcome and to ask them how we can help.
These volunteers are trained in listening skills and how to get appropriate information.
Some clients may just require a leaflet or a telephone number. Others may wish to talk about an issue and seek advice. Information Support Workers don't tell young people what they should do but help them to make informed choices about their lives including the possibility of having counselling.
Information Support Workers volunteer for a few hours a week (at least three) in one of our three drop-in centres (Bath, Keynsham or Midsomer Norton). They also attend team meetings and receive monthly individual supervision.
We are always looking to recruit volunteers for this important role; if you feel that you could contribute in this way please contact us.
