Domestic Violence & Abuse

Currently this project is focused on prevention education work in schools, raising awareness of domestic violence and teenage relationship abuse.

This project recently worked with young people from Chew Valley School to develop a PSHE teaching pack. The aim was to raise awareness, help teachers explore healthy relationships and better understand the effects of domestic violence & abuse against women and girls. The PSHE teaching pack is currently being piloted by teachers in Chew Valley, Culverhay, Fosseway and Hayesfield schools. Why not ask your teachers about this if you’re at one of these schools?

Young people in Chew Valley School have also developed a Safe and Equal Gauge, which acts as a guide in measuring how safe young people feel in school. Based on the results of the survey, young people will work with us and the School’s Senior Management Team to plan a whole-school approach to reducing sexual bullying in school.

The learning and outcomes of this work will feed into Comic Relief’s national learning project and directly influence the Government’s Action Plan: ‘Call to End Violence Against Women and Girls’.  You could be part of this!
