About Counselling
What is counselling?
Counselling is talking to someone who can help you become clearer about your thoughts and feelings, and help you find your own solutions.
You might want to make changes in your life, and you could use your counselling sessions to help you.
Counselling sessions are confidential, with a few exceptions, such as the following:
- If we think you or someone else is at risk of immediate harm, for example if you or someone else is being abused. We will tell you if we are concerned for you or someone else and we will talk through what might or could happen next.
- Counsellors are required to think about how they work with clients and they do this through supervision. This means they talk to someone trained to listen to them about the work they are doing and how they do it. They won't say anything to the supervisor that would identify who you are.
Who can get counselling?
Any young person aged up to 25 who lives, works or studies in Bath and North East Somerset. Sometimes we also see young people from outside the area, but this is by agreement.
Does it cost anything?
No it is free.
