Invisible People
This is for the people, who struggle to survive,
They look at themselves wondering why they’re alive.
Right now there’s a little girl called Sam, 7 years old,
Stuck in her misery because she’s never told.
Never wants to come back home, because she’s being abused,
Too young to know, so she’s just confused.
There’s a man right now in a hotel complaining there’s not enough heat,
He looks out the window and there’s a woman across on the other side of the street,
Trying to get some food, but she’s only got 30p,
He’s got all she needs, but he’s to blind to see.
There’s a boy right now called Joe, 15 years old,
Lives on the streets because his parents hearts are so cold,
Joe’s been kicked out of his house since his mothers affair begun,
Won’t be accepted, the new boyfriend didn’t want a son.
Right now there’s an old man called Robert, sleeping on a bench in the park,
He lays there helplessly, hungry in the dark.
The only profit he makes is from selling the big issue and money he begs for,
But the people just ignore him as he watches them; he doesn’t want to live any more.
Right there’s a mother in Iraq stuck in the middle of a war,
Her daughter’s been taken to get her back she has to break the law.
But she doesn’t really care she has to get her child back,
But then she gets caught and shot, her world goes black.
Right now there’s a boy just lost his mum called Jane,
His name is Ben; he thinks he’s to blame.
Ben gets beaten at school; he’s got nowhere to turn,
9 years old and he’s only there to learn.
Right now Lucy has broken bones and two black eyes,
She’s 14, her parents beat her, and she’ll be alone next time she cries.
In despair she packs her bag because she’s leaving,
Lucy can’t walk properly yet, but she knows she’s lucky to still be breathing.
There’s a woman right now, at some place but that doesn’t really matter,
Her city has just been bombed, but no one cares about her.
She’s curling in agony because she’s lost one limb,
There’s a shelter not too far, it will be a miracle if she’s not killed before she gets in.
Right now there’s a girl called Sally, bullied because she’s fat,
They push her around and spit on her but not only that.
They play tricks on her and tell her she’s ugly, they make her look the fool,
Now she’s obsessed with dieting and she dreads going to school.
You don’t help these people so they feel alone,
They’re simply abandoned so they have to fight it on their own.
They’re cut out from the world, they are just ignored,
You could help that starving person but you tell me you can’t afford.
Do you ever wonder what it be like to be in their shoes,
Whether or not you do the right thing I can’t choose.
If you don’t feel any sorrow right now maybe you just don’t care,
But could you look in my eyes and tell me the world is fair?
If this doesn’t bother you then you are just too blind,
To see the truth or maybe you just don’t mind.
Too selfish, too ignorant, but it might happen to you too.
So remember this when you’re complaining some one has more money than you.
Only together can we make a difference to those in despair,
Just open your eyes and the invisible people are everywhere.
