What is the Youth Forum?

The Youth Forum is a group for anyone in Bath & North-East Somerset (BANES) aged 11-18 (or up to 25 with additional needs) who’s passionate about getting young people’s voices heard, and making positive change.


What does the Youth Forum do?

The Youth Forum meets fortnightly, on Thursdays from 4:45-6:30pm in Bath.

The Youth Forum is youth-led. This means that the Youth Forum participants make the decisions about campaigns and projects they do, based on the issues that really matter to young people in BANES.

Off The Record staff support the Youth Forum, for example through helping participants to develop their skills, and by organising trips.

What we’re working on

Currently we’re focusing on a campaign to make BANES schools more accessible for neurodivergent students.

We’re also working on a campaign to get BANES to re-join the UK Youth Parliament.

In 2023: we ran a really successful Youth Pride event for local LGBTQ+ young people and their allies, and we collaborated with other BANES youth groups/organisations to organise a youth mental health event.

We aim to:

  • Get young people from a diverse range of backgrounds to be part of our group

  • Collaborate with other local youth groups

  • Focus on local campaigns and projects that other young people can also take part in

Being part of Youth Forum is completely free. We provide food at each session, and can cover travel expenses if needed.
