There are two options to access support online with OTR staff.

Once you’ve made contact with us through the Referral page of our website, we’ll contact you to arrange an appointment. This appointment will be carried out either over the phone or online (using audio or video call). We’ll ask you on your referral form what your preference is (phone or online).

1.  Phone call – our staff will call the young person on a number that is shared with us and carry out a telephone session at the agreed time.

 2.  Online video or audio call – this can be used where phone calling is not an option and communication needs to take place using the internet. Zoom allows for audio and video conferencing and is our preferred way of working. If you ask for an online call, we’ll send you a calendar invite using the email address provided. Within this invite will be a link that you can use to make the call (please note that if it’s the first time using Zoom, you’ll need to download the app, so please give some time for that. Please see details below in order to set up.

ZOOM GUIDANCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Zoom is a free app that can be used on mobiles, notepad devices, and desktop computers.

In order to use ZOOM the young person will need to set up an account or download the app. This is free to do and simple. Here is the link to ZOOM website offering guides for how to get started on all possible devices e.g. Apple or Android phones, as well as setting up on a Desktop.

Setting your device up to work with Zoom the first time can take a few minutes, so here are some steps to go through in setting it up

1.     It is simple and free to sign up to and download. Please do this at least half an hour before the call starts so that if you have any issues, you can work them out.

2.     You can use Zoom on your phone, tablet or computer.

3.     Please ensure you have suitable headphones/mic before the call starts. If using your phone or pad, or a PC with camera and mic built in, this should work fine. You may wish to use headphones with built in mic (the sort you are given with a mobile phone).

4.     Check you are in a good reception area with strong wifi connection if possible - It makes all the difference.

To access OTR online support, please follow the link and complete the online referral form and we will get back to you.
