MORE ABOUT YOUR OTR

Your OTR is a group of young people aged 16-25 who take the lead on shaping and improving Off the Record.

Off The Record strives to be a youth-led organisation, and so we want to make sure young people’s voices are at the heart of everything that we do. It’s a great chance to improve your skills and confidence, and a fab thing to put on your CV!

Your OTR meets monthly (online and in-person) to:

  • Discuss what is important for young people right now

  • Take part in exciting training

  • Make suggestions for how Off The Record can improve its services for young people

  • Take part in interviews for new Off The Record staff

  • Meet with Off The Record trustees

Who are Your OTR?

  • Andros

    Likes: Rock and metal music, reading comics, collecting action figures and funko pops, and arts and crafts

    Dislikes: people who discriminate against others just for being who they are

    In another life I’m pretty sure I was… an aardwolf (I’m a therian)

  • Ella

    Likes: talking about books and music, crafts and environmentalism

    Dislikes: injustice, cheese, loud chewing and scratchy jumpers

    In another life I’m pretty sure I was… a cat, because I am entertained by the smallest things, I love chilling out in green spaces and I am very friendly once you get to know me!

  • James

    Likes: writing, bookshops, meditation, vegan food and sincerity

    Dislikes: TikTok

    In another life I’m pretty sure I was… A robin! My family have sentimental attachments to them

  • Morgan

    Likes: comics, D&D, pizza

    Dislikes: intolerant people, loud noise, vinegar

YOUR OTR TERMS OF REFERENCE

  • Your OTR is a place for young people to connect and come together

  • To review the work of the projects and staff at OTR

  • Young people to run projects/ campaigns based on their areas of interest in line with the work and vision of OTR

  • To give comment, input and opinions on things that require young person’s input

  • To take part in training to have the right skills to help them undertake their aims

  • Work towards representing a wide range of voices, experiences, and backgrounds of young people

  • Your OTR members can act as representatives of OTR at events and online as agreed with YOTR staff
